Happy Sunday! It feels like forever since I last post but I’m back today with the Stamping Sunday Design Team. This month we are featuring all our favourite animal stamp sets, now I’m a flowers kind of a guy however I do have a couple of sets laying around. In the end I selected the Springtime Joy Stamp Set [154403].
Stampin’ Up! Springtime Joy Stamp Set
Welcome Easter and spring with images you stamp using the Springtime Joy Stamp Set [154403]. Stamp them on note cards or tags, then add them to gifts and goodies. Colour with any of our colouring tools to add your own personal touch.
Todays Project
I took the opportunity to try and attempt a new technique, No Line Watercolour. This is where you stamp your image in a light ink colour before colouring the image. When watercolour your stamped images will gradually fade into the watercolour. By using different colours and intensity of ink you can create shadow areas, so your image isn’t flat. I applied the ink with a Water Painter [151298].
I stamped the bunny image in Sahara Sand Ink [147117] on to Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper [149612]. The body of the bunny is primarily coloured with Crumb Cake Ink [147116] however I mixed in a little Early Espresso Ink [147114] to create a little depth. Now my advice with this technique is to practice, you can see a huge difference between the card and the tag. I created the card first and from looking at the dried image I was bolder on the tag.

Hey Martin – ‘No Line Watercolour’ is one of my most favourite techniques ever! It’s a perfect technique to use for soft and gentle child-like Easter images. I like the way you’ve used a wide border for the card and echoed the attached tag with a real one with the same image on it. Loving your use of Early Espresso (dark chocolate coloured) cardstock with the words written (stamped) in white icing! You’ve reminded me to get my Personalised Easter Eggs ordered from Thorntons – thanks! ~ C ~ GB-uk
