Happy Sunday all! Now is the time to be taking a break from the world and just take a moment to join myself and the rest of the Stamping Sunday Team in a little creative fun. This month we are featuring our favourite Mini Catalogue item with our favourite Annual Catalogue item. Easy right? It would be if I did love everything! In the end I settled on the image only stamp set Mountain Air (bundle available with dies) and the sentiment only stamp set Well Said.
With the Stamping Sunday Design Team we can choose from two options. Either create a card and a 3D item or a 3 stages of card making; beginner, casual and avid. It has been a while since I cover the 3 levels in individual projects, so why not today. With these projects I stepped out of my comfort zone a little by using a lot of colour.
Something you might not expect is that I started this with the avid project. This might not be to everyone’s liking due to amount of things going on however I love it. It took me right back to my University days and just being able to play. The Mountain Air Bundle is just perfect when creating scenes. By building up the layers in the background get this scene building up.
While I didn’t make the casual crafters card next it is only fitting for it to be next. You’ll see that I have dramatically calm this card down! I took just two of the colours featured in the avid project and again attempted to create a scene. I wanted to incorporate the few techniques still such as heat embossing, tonal stamping and some die cutting.
For the beginner project I kept it really simple. Just ink, card and stamps. I sponged on the background square with some sponge daubers before stamping down the images. One way this card might not be considered as a beginner card is by me creating a template using dies – I couldn’t help myself…
