Happy Thursday! Today I am hopping with the One Stamp at a Time Design Team under the theme of ’16 Candles’. This is such a fun theme where we explore so many different designs that are perfect for somebodies birthday celebration. For this theme I just had to use the Poppy Moments Dies which are simply fabulous.
In the Poppy Moments Dies you have these amazing flowers. I really wanted an impact to be made with flower which is why I layered three of the outlined die cut images to create depth. You would have seen me do this before on die cut sentiments but you can see the amazing effect. The flowers were cut out of Petal Pink and So Saffron.
For the card base I cut a standard C6 card in Balmy Blue. The original idea for this card was to keep the base pretty bare and empty. As you can tell from the images I didn’t stick with this idea, instead I used the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks that have carried over from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. Fabulous right?
The background is so easy to make. Just by taking the Balmy Blue ink, a sponge dauber and the decorative mask you can create this effect. When applying the ink I left it to dry off towards the bottom to create the gradual fade.
Who doesn’t love coordination? To match the card I created a basic box and decorated it in the exact same way. The box is one of my go to in its design and all I have to do is amend the measurement to fit whatever I have to go inside. I created a video here showing another project using the same design of box (just different dimensions).
