Happy Friday! I’m so happy it is finally Friday, is it just me or has this week dragged? Well hopefully The Gentleman Crafters and I can make it that little more fun. Our aim is to share what we love and at this time I LOVE the Honey Bee Stamp Set.
Something I really joy is doing in my craft is water colouring. It’s just so relaxing to crack out the ink, aqua painters and clear blocks. Whenever I want to do some water colouring, I grab for the Fluid 100 watercolour paper. I know a few people have commented about the fact the Fluid 100 not bring pure white, don’t let this put you off. I think of it as a canvas for your illustration to sit on, all your card base is to frame off your card.
With imagery like this from Honey Bee Stamp Set the illustration is already done. You just get to have fun with techniques!
I have created a card like this one before using the Beauty Abound Stamp Set, you can view that blog post here. For this project I recorded a video demonstrating how to create this effect, make sure you check that out. For this project I used Crushed Curry initially however felt it was a little too bright. To mute the colour down a fraction I added the some Crumb Cake. It did the trick!
As you will see from the project using the Beauty Abound card, I normally mount the watercolour piece to Whisper White. This time round I really liked the Crumb Cake base to bring in something a little different to the mix. By using the Crumb Cake you are also incorporating the colours used within the watercolour.
