I created the floral arrangement using Altenew’s Botanical Elegance Alcohol Marker Coloring Sheets, colouring the striking flowers in warm golden-yellow tones before pairing them with a deep green background.

The dramatic contrast really allows the flowers to shine, while the layered sentiments, natural twine and scattering of clear embellishments add those all-important finishing touches. Card Inspiration: Golden Botanical Thank You Card

For this card, I wanted the flowers to feel bold and luxurious, so I used a mixture of golden yellow and warm orange marker shades. The pale green leaves soften the design, while the dark green background creates a dramatic contrast against the lighter botanical elements.

I arranged the flowers so that they extended beyond the edges of the raised panel, helping the design feel larger and more organic. A layered “thanks” sentiment provides the main greeting, with a smaller “I appreciate you” sentiment strip adding a more personal message.

1. Create a top-folding A6 card base from dark green cardstock.
2. Cut a second piece of matching cardstock slightly smaller than the card front. Adhere this panel using foam tape to create subtle dimension.
3. Select one of the floral designs from the Botanical Elegance Alcohol Marker Coloring Sheets.
4. Colour the flowers using golden yellow and orange alcohol markers. Begin with the lightest colour before gradually adding the deeper shades around the folds, centres and overlapping areas of the petals.
5. Colour the foliage using pale green markers, adding darker green shading along one side of each leaf to create shape and movement.
6. Add small white highlights and splatters across the coloured image. This helps introduce texture and gives the finished flowers a more artistic appearance.
7. Carefully cut around the coloured botanical image, leaving either a very narrow border or cutting directly against the printed outline.
8. Arrange the flowers and leaves across the card front, allowing portions of the foliage to extend beyond the raised central panel. Adhere some areas flat and use foam tape behind others to build dimension.
9. Add white paint splatters across the dark green background, protecting the surrounding area as required.
10. Die-cut a large “thanks” sentiment from neutral shades of cardstock and layer the pieces together. Adhere the sentiment across the centre of the floral arrangement.
11. Stamp and heat emboss the smaller “I appreciate you” sentiment onto dark cardstock using white embossing powder. Trim it into a narrow strip and position it across the larger sentiment.
12. Tuck a loose loop of natural twine behind the sentiments before securing everything into place.
13. Finish the card with a scattering of clear sequins or droplets for a little extra shine.
