Card Inspiration – Layered Dewdrop Daisy Friendship Card

For today’s card, I wanted the crisp white daisies to really stand out, so I paired them with a rich navy cardstock background. The contrast makes the flowers almost glow, while a little white splatter and a scattering of iridescent sequins add just the right amount of sparkle without overwhelming the design.
The sentiments are heat embossed in a warm golden yellow, tying in perfectly with the daisy centres and adding a modern finishing touch.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Create an A6 card base from deep navy cardstock.
- Cut a slightly smaller panel from the same cardstock and adhere it to the card base using foam tape for added dimension.
- Die cut enough pieces to create five daisies using the Simon Says Stamp Dewdrop Daisy Wafer Dies.
- Die cut the leaves from white cardstock and blend light green ink over each leaf, leaving the centres lighter for a soft, natural look.
- Assemble each flower by layering the petals together before adding the textured flower centres. Die cut the centres from yellow cardstock or colour white die cuts with yellow ink.
- Arrange the flowers across the card front, tucking the leaves behind each bloom until you’re happy with the composition.
- Adhere everything in place using a mixture of liquid adhesive and foam tape to create extra depth between some of the flowers.
- Splatter diluted white acrylic paint over the background for subtle texture.
- Stamp the sentiments onto white cardstock using golden yellow embossing powder before trimming them into strips.
- Pop the sentiment strips up with foam tape and finish with a few iridescent sequins for a little extra sparkle.
Top Tip: Before gluing your flowers down permanently, take a quick photo of your favourite arrangement with your phone. It’s much easier to recreate if anything gets knocked while you’re assembling the card!
