Card Inspiration – You’re Simply the Zest!

For today’s card, I wanted a clean but dynamic layout that draws your eye to the playful sentiment. The layering of elements and textures gives a punch of dimension while keeping it fresh and fun.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Create the card base: Start with a bright teal card base measuring 5.5″ x 4.25″. Splatter lightly with white acrylic paint for some added interest.
- Die-cut your background: Use the Cover Plate: Bandana Die to cut a piece of white cardstock. Adhere this slightly off-centre on your card for a pop of bold contrast.
- Build your lemons: Die-cut the lemons from yellow cardstock, then ink blend the edges with a slightly darker yellow to add dimension. Speckle them with white paint for texture.
- Assemble your florals: Die-cut the lemon blossoms and leaves using white, green, and kraft cardstock. Layer together for a natural, organic look.
- Arrange and adhere: Cluster your lemons and florals over the bandana die cut using foam tape for depth. Tuck the leaves and blossoms in for a full composition.
- Add sentiment: Stamp “You’re simply the zest!” in a crisp navy ink, fussy cut it, and pop it up over the lemons.
- Finishing touches: Scatter a few clear sequins across your card for that extra sparkle.
