Happy Tuesday! I’m excited to be back today with something new. Today I am joining a new fortnightly design team where we will be working to different themes. To start this amazing journey we are staring with the theme of ‘Rainbows’. I choose the to use the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle [157727]. This bundle was released with our latest catalogue – Request one here.
Rainbow of Happiness Bundle
The Rainbow of Happiness Bundle [157727] includes the Rainbow of Happiness Stamp Set [157721] and the Brilliant Rainbow Dies [157726]. Mix and match stamped images with die-cut bows to create unique rainbows in your favourite colours. The bow-shaped greetings in the stamp set can be stamped on die-cut pieces for a unique look. The A Little Something to Brighten Your Day greeting is sized perfectly to fit on the tag piece in the die set. Add clouds and scallops to your handmade cards for extra texture and dimension. Also available in French and German.
Todays project
I have already created a few cards with this bundle, so fresh ideas weren’t at the forefront of my mind. Nevertheless, I had this concept of the rainbow being above clouds. To create the illusion of this I created a C6 card base out of Window Sheets [142314]. You might find it a little flimsy but do not worry, we are going to add additional support to the base. I die cut a few different layers of Basic White Card [159228] with the Basic Border Dies [155558].
In order to ensure you can’t see any of the adhesive once you open a card you will want to cut 4 piece of Basic White Card [159228] the same size & shape. You will be able to sandwich the acetate between two pieces hiding and of the adhesive. I staggered the cloud on the front of the card in order to help create depth. The rainbow was die cut out of 4 different coloured cards. Here again you will want to cut the shapes twice to hide the adhesive.
I felt the card was missing something across the top of the card. To create more balance I tired white twine from the Bakers Twine Essential Pack [155475] around the card and finished in a bow. I finished the card with used the From the Heart Faceted Gems [151154]. You will really need to like the person you give this too with the number of gems I added.
