Happy Thursday! I’m playing a little catch up with a couple of projects that I have created for the Fancy Friday Design Team. This is a Team of demonstrators who only post on Instagram & Facebook; make sure you check them out for monthly challenges! Today’s project was created for the Ombre Challenge and I used the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set [155092].
The centre piece has to be the butterfly. I used a total of nine different blends, all are listed below. As the challenge is all about Ombre, I work the colours down from the Cajun Craze [154879] to the Daffodil Delight [154883]. When creating the smooth blend its all about working the colours by swapping between the different colour really working them together. Stampin’ Blends truly are my favourite colouring tool by Stampin’ Up! If you haven’t tried them, create this project you wont look back.
Along with the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set [155092] I brought in the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set [151457]. I used the largest flower spray in this set to frame the butterfly. With the card I had my first attempt at reserve stamping lowing me to create a mirror image. This was really important for me because butterflies are famously symmetrical. To create a mirror image you need to stamp onto a Silicone Craft Sheet [127853]. Layer over a piece of Basic White Card [159228] and gently rubbing the image into the card.
