Hello March and welcome to you, we are starting the month right with a brand-new tutorial from the Stamping Society. For March we focus on our individual Favourite Suites, now I know that it’s hard to just choose one however I managed it. I think you might be a little surprised that I choose the Sand & Sea Suite [155980] however I love the colours on offer and it’s something so different to everything else in my collection. This suite features the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set [154368] which has 23 stamps in it!

Where do I start with todays project? If you have seen my projects before you will know that I’m not the biggest fan of Patterned Paper, it’s just not my cup of tea. This being said the Sand & Sea DSP [154288] is just so pretty with you really getting a feel for both the sand & the sea. I created the card base using Seaside Spray Card [150889] before taking this wave effect paper for the background. You’ll notice that the bottom edge is torn. The reason for this is to create the sense of waves overlapping each other.

The main element of the card is the amazing shell images. Now I have seen some amazing stuff done with these stamps. I just wish I was as good to show you. Nevertheless I can show you how easy it is to get a cool tonal effect which takes no effort at all. For example the largest shell is stamped in Sahara Sand Ink [147117] onto Sahara Sand Card [121695]. By stamping onto the same-coloured card it takes any colouring away and you have instant gratification. I fussy cut the shapes out with my Paper Snips [103579] before putting them onto a stitched circle die cut from the Stitched Shapes Dies [152323].
