Happy Sunday! Today I wanted to share some of my projects created for my February Artisan Design Team Projects. I created 3 projects with the Hydrangea Haven Bundle [156251], all using the same concept but amended slightly. This bundle scared me a little when I received it in the post however, I got somewhere with it.
Now I just want to put it out there, I am fully aware that Hydrangea’s don’t come in yellow. I took creative license on a bit of a journey with these projects but against the Flirty Flamingo it works. The images were all stamped in Versamark Ink [102283] before embossing in White Stampin’ Embossing Powder [109132]. This created a resist for when you paint over our classic Ink.
I wanted these projects to be really clean which is why I only really used Basic White Card [159228]. This just allows the colour pop more. The coloured ink was all applied with Water Painters [151298]. In the pack you receive 3 different paint brushes all with varied brush heads. I used the lager to create the brushstrokes in the background by just swiping the ink across the card.
Don’t worry about water either. If you just use the water painter as a paint brush by dipping into water, you will have much more control. I would also recommend not drying it off ever so slightly so that you aren’t saturating the card.
The Hydrangea Haven Bundle [156251] is available from January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue.

Hey martin,
I’d be interested in hearing what you found most scary about when you received the bundle? As a Artisan DT member are you sent just the bundle without the dsp or anything else in the suite?
Hydrangea Hill is my second/third favourite suite in the MINI catalogue. But, as it happens, now that I am back to being an all important S’U! customer it’s the first suite I have happily played/experimented/worked with this stampin’ year.

Hi! It all comes down to individual style and taste really. Personally this isn’t a bundle I would have looked at and wanted to buy. You’ve followed me for some time and I’m sure you’d notice that it just doesn’t fit. This always makes it harder to create with.
Its a well designed bundle though and I’d recommend to anyone who likes it to purchase it as its great value.

True enough re the length of time I’ve been following you, but I wondered what spin you would but on it – mixing it with geometrics for example (a la Ruth at Artful Stamping) or something. I love the colour combo you used and how you have showed us how to use the same design on three different sizes / shaped cards.
Just a little about me if I may ~ In September, of this year, I am returning to my local college to re-start the ‘Foundation into Art & Design’ course that I started about 15 years ago, but had to stop due to the rapidly increasing care-for-my-son-commitments. Currently, I am doing the ‘Introduction to Print Making course at my regional Print Centre. I am determined to ‘re-find myself’ and hope to do so while undertaking both of these courses.

Hi Martin!
I love your take on the Hydrangea Haven set! This is a beautiful card. This was the #1 set on my list. I have to admit that Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers and purple my favorite color. Using Daffodil Delight is just gorgeous! Thank you so much for a different look at this amazing set.
