Hello and welcome to December’s Creation Station blog hop. This month we are working under the theme of ‘Ice Ice Baby’, which you can probably guess means sparkly, snowy and everything wintery. It was a no brainer for me to head straight for the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set [153444]. This stamp set is available in the August – December Mini Catalogue. Starting on the 8th December there will be a sale of items that are retiring at the end of the sale period. Make sure you check it out.
Today’s card is all about creating the snow flurry in the background. I started with a piece of Balmy Blue Card [147007] and started by stamping some of the snowflakes from the in Versamark [102283]. I sprinkled over the Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder [109130] before heat setting. Once this has been done it was a matter of adding ink with a Sponge Brayer [141714]. After this I continued to stamp the snowflakes in Night of Navy Ink [147110] as well as embossing a few other in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder [109131].
There is a lot going on in background, so I tried to be mindful of what I used as the focal point. I took one of the snowflakes from the So Many Snowflake Dies [153560] and die cut it 5 times in Whisper White Card [106549]. This is referred to as Die Stacking. It really helped to make this an impact without lots of dimension. I wanted a super slim sentiment.. Therefore took the merry Christmas from a larger sentiment to just finish the card off. I love the array of styles the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set [153444] offers.
