Well I’m just just to start it off with how terrible the weather has been the last few days! I can’t believe it and it’s effective everything I had planned to do this week. One of which was record the how to videos for today’s projects… I’m frowning as I write this because I’m just not happy! Where’s the sun?
Nevertheless I have a schedule to keep and I plan to keep it. Today’s post is one of my favourite in each month, the One Stamp at a Time team. There are so many fantastic themes that really challenge me to think outside of the box a little. As always the challenge is to make one card and a 3D item/a tag. This month the theme is Something old, something new. Perfect to celebrate the release of the new catalogue.
For once I actually come up with the 3D item first! Cant you believe it? I know it’s crazy. Normally I get super stress with 3D projects but this time I had it all planned. It came from a memory of when I used to create these card design planners or sketch books. They are so simple to do, simply cut rules/plain paper to 6×6” and a sheet of DSP to the same size. I scored at 3” and along the score line staples all the items together. Simple right? I choose to use the Bird Ballad DSP and coordinates with the Botanical Bliss Stamp Set and Botanical Tags Dies.
There’s so many colours used in these projects, I went a little crazy. I pondered a little bit over if I should stick with the colours within the DSP pack or go in another direction. I went the in the other direction, I choose Mint Macaroon, Blackberry Bliss and Pretty Peacock to sit alongside the Calypso Carol. They just all work so perfectly together! The card follows the same design only placed on a base of Pretty Peacock.
