From the last post I mentioned about my little road trip over to Wales to see a couple of castles to celebrate mine and my partners Anniversary. Well I’m glad to say we are home, very tired after the holiday (not sure how that’s happened) but some amazing memories were made. Across two days we visited 7 different castles, which I know some of my follows over on Facebook & Instagram we’re loving the photos. I’m not going to share any today purely because I’m hoping to do some scrapbooking!
You might be wondering why I’m blabbering on about this but it does shave some connection with today’s card. Well I see today’s card as a sort of anniversary card, this wasn’t given to my partner as they wouldn’t have appreciated it and we tend to get each other ‘mean’ cards. The Forever Lovely Stamp Set is currently available in the Spring/Summer Catalogue but will be carrying over into the 2019-2020 Annual, that means you’ll see plenty of examples from me in the future.
I took a card base of Sahara Sand which is just a standard C6 (10.5 x 14.8cm). Before doing anything else I created the mat of Very Vanilla, the reason for this is that I need to position it onto your card to make a mark so you know where to stamp the flowers. Now the flowers stamps are designed so that they can layered in two separate colours, while we will be doing this later right now you’ll just want to take both flower and foliage and stamp in Sahara Sand.
The Very Vanilla piece measures 10.5 x 7 x 11 cm. To make it easy, I would recommend cutting a piece of card stock measuring 10.5 x 22 cm, measures down 7cm on one side and the 11cm the other. It’s simply a task of dot to dot now to get the angles. Angles on cards is something that I think will be a big thing in the future, keep an eye out and see if you see it anywhere else. Taking the foliage stamp as well as Old Olive Ink and stamp around the top and sides of this piece of card stock. I recommend stamping it once then swapping in the flower stamp with Rich Razzleberry, this will allow you to make an informed decision when stamping. You’ll notice that there is a larger leaf stamp available, I took this just to fill in any blank area.
The sentiment is available with in this stamp set and I choose to stamp this just in Memento Ink, I personally felt that doing this in any other colour would distract from the flowers. I attached this to the card base using dimensionals and finished with Pearls. When it comes to choosing Pearls or Rhinestone I go by a rule that if I’m using Very Vanilla then Pearls work better and Whisper White is Rhinestone, this isn’t always set in stone but 90% of the time it works for me.
Now I don’t actually have anything planned this week – it’s very strange. I’m sure I’ll find something to fill the time. I know I’ll be receiving an order and opening over on Facebook/Instagram so make sure you head over there to keep up to date with all my on goings away from the blog.
