I wanted to start this post by saying I’ve been busy crafting away getting everything sorted for the coming weeks. I would be liking if I said I had done this. I did set myself a little task on making my swaps ready for On Stage, I’m happy to report I have a design and it’s all under way! You know when you try to keep it simple and then just end up going crazy? I promised myself no Heat Embossing or die cutting. Well it has both! Oops!
Today’s card was actually inspired by a friend. She said during a Facebook Live about how she love the colour Pool Party, I pondered for a bit and I thought I haven’t actually used it for any projects. I’m crazy right? Well I’m making up for it now, not only did I use the colour of the base of the card here but I’ve taken my friends advice and using it a lot as accent colour. She said ‘it’s just the perfect colour to slot in anywhere to help balance a card’, boy was she right, I’ve been missing a trick.
For the diamond effect in the background I used the Embossing Paste. You’ve seen me use this bore however this has been a lot more regimented, this time not so much. I wanted some form the freedom and messiness from this, which I why, to put it plainly, slapped it on. Embossing Paste is amazing stuff to play with and actually not that difficult to clean up after. Haven’t tried it? Contact me to purchase some today!
You’ve also seen me use these butterflies before as well. What can I say, when I like something I go with it and make the most of it. Something I wasn’t so sure about was how or where to place it. So I messed around a little, punching out shapes cutting little flags but in the end I sent Lee for a simple strip of Basic Black. You will see this featured again soon.
I want to leave this post in something that made me really happy yesterday. I had a missed call on my mobile and a voicemail, I listened and it was a local lady who wanted some more information about Stampin Up, I could hear the excitement of finally discovering the Stampin Up and in the prospect of placing an order. It has made my week and it reminded me of how I first felt when I found Stampin’ Up.
