Are we feeling all refreshed after the Easter weekend? I know I spent a lot of time getting projects ready for the coming week and to be honest I got a lot done! It’s a great feeling isn’t it, being proactive and getting stuff done? It’s now just keeping up with it… I didn’t spend all weekend crafting though, I made sure time was spent away relaxing and exploring with Sean. It was good to spend time together.
Over the weekend I did experience a little stress and really struggled to come up and with some of the projects you will be seeing soon. The reason for this was because I was trying to limit myself When I took certain restrictions away, such as using items available on Last Chance List. The stamp set I’m using today is the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set. This is my go to stamp set when I’m struggling as it’s just perfect to grab and go. What I also love about this stamp set is how you can use it with colour, here I use the Subtles collection but any would work.
To create the ring of flowers I simply took the largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies and traced around with a pencil. This gave me a template to follow. With a design like this I would suggest using copier paper or scrap, this way you can have a rough idea on how it will look before you get stamping. This reminds me of something my sculpture tutor used to drum into me. “Make it once and it won’t be good enough. Make it 40 times and you’ll find one that is perfect”. This is something that will stick with me for a long time and you’ll notice when I stamp more than I need but will only use one or two.
With today’s card I was a little unsure let’s say on if it needed a little more. Maybe a Rhinestone? While this could have worked well and maybe wouldn’t over power the card I choose not to (as you can tell). The reason I didn’t is I like the simplicity of the card and this really make the card special.
I’ll be busy this week getting ready for the new month coming next week. We have Stamping Society, Hostess Gifts and a lot of preparation for the new catalogue. It’s super exciting and I can wait to see all of your excite in the coming month.
