Coming at you today with what seems like a massive project. It’s not believe me however there has been a lot of behind the sense work that have taken place to make this post possible. It’s worth it as long as you all like it if not it’s been a total waste of time. That’s a joke by the way, probably couldn’t tell in just reading the post.
You all know by now how I feel about butterflies, I love them and just are just my absolute favourite! You’ve seen use all the butteries from the Spring/Summer Catalogue in so many different ways in just the short time that it has been available. This being said I really wanted to try and do something a little more arty farty for a card and this was the outcome. I know I’ve used these three colours before in a water coloured project. The three colours are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red. This technique would work with any colour combo however for this card I wanted a really viberant, bold colours.
The technique for the background is the time consuming part and is something you need to know just when to stop. This isn’t something that I or anybody else can teach you but with practice you will learn when and how to stop. It’s super fun though to practice, you can get messy and it be okay.
The butterflies are super cute and I love how pretty they are with the base of Vellum and cover of Whisper White. They really help distract and soften the busy background. The butterflies are created using the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits, this is just one die with five butterflies on it however with some clever cutting you can snip them all up and use them separately rather than a whole.
I used a little bit of Wink of Stella ontop of the vellum. This isn’t a requirement however it use look so goddamn good! I dare you to run and give it ago and you’ll see how amazing it looks! I posted a video of the vellum butterflies on their own just so people could just take a moment to absorb the beauty in.
I’m busy getting some projects created and film ready for Stamping Society as well as for all of you here. I also need to try and get some form of swap together to give at On Stage because that’s only a month away!
