Happy Birthday – Stampin’ Up! Lift Me Up Stamp Set

Today’s card is a actually using items from the Annual Catalogue, crazy right? I know all the other demonstrator are busy showcasing items from the Spring/Summer but I wanted to take a moment to head back to the heart. One stamp set that’s I love is the Lift Me Up Stamp Set that has these wonderful hot air balloons. It’s just so playful and works well with colour. I wanted to try and do something with the hot air balloons with colour and vellum, I wasn’t sure what exactly but this is what came from the craziness. Vellum is its own worst enemy if you like it’s wonderful because it’s transucecy but this does make it had to adhere. 

Something I don’t use often enough is the amazing Embossing Paste. I’ve only ever used in in its simplest form; straight from the tub onto the card. You can do so much with this stuff, it’s really quite remarkable, you can add colour by using reinkers or event add glitter. You don’t even have to use the mask and just swipe some across you card. You imagination is the limit nothing else. 

I created an addition mask to the one you can purchase from Stampin’ Up. I took a window sheet and cut a circle out to create an appiture, layering this over the card base first followed with patterned mask. This is the best way to get the perfect circle. After this has dried I found I wanted a little something more so I just die cut some cloud out of Whisper White.

So I’ve just sat here writing this while watching a tv program about how pencils are made. Random I know but to think how a little tool like a pencils has to go through a massive feet to become what we use to write with. How much of a journey due you think our craft supplies take?
