Do you have a stamp set or bundle that’s been sat on your wish list for what seems like forever? Well Follow Your Dreams has been on mine since I received my first catalogue. The time came for me to finally order the set and of course I wasn’t going to miss getting 10% off by adding in the coordinating Thinlits.
The thinlits is where this card started, I love the feather designs within this stamp set but this larger feather is just so cute. I’ve seen so many feather designs around weather that be as a tattoo, watercolour painting or maybe as a logo. When you seen something everywhere you know it’s going to be a big thing. I always recommend looking else where for inspiration, I personally look at more graphic things and go from there using items that I have available.
I wanted the feather to be the focal point of the card and I knew I wanted to bring in copper embossing powder. You actually have my partner to thank for the amazing colour combination of black and copper. I was actually sat at my besk and shouted down to him what colour to pair with it. The black really makes the copper stand out (the photo doesn’t really do this card justice; sorry).
While I love this card I do think that I’m going to revisit it at some point to try to regig it and maybe turn it into a C6 card. This way you’ll be able to appreciate each little detail. Don’t get me wrong I love this size can so much, as you’ll see from exploring my blog, however some details are just too big and distract from the finer details.
The video demonstrating how easy is is to make just an amazing card is available below.
Now I’m off to get ready for my first late night workshop. I normally just hold one a month on a Saturday, however we don’t all work just Monday to Friday and I wanted to get more people involved in crafting. So why not spread out a little, share in creativity!
