This week is super busy, I can’t believe how quickly it’s going. It Thursday already. Next thing you know it’ll be Sunday and you’ll be popping back to see my video project for the week!
Today’s card is using the First Frost stamp set, I wanted to do something other than Christmas theme so you can all see how versatile the stamp set is. I started with a base of Whisper White measuring 4 inches by 8, folded at 4 inches. I wanted to make a dramatic but subtle background and the long leaf stamp was perfect to create the impact. Stampin Up does offer some DSP which offers a sheet of 12×12 with a similar design but that’s not always fun. I stamped this down in Soft Sea Foam moving the stamp up and down just so there’s a difference in the pattern.
I stamped the large and smaller flower in multiple colours so I could play around a little bit before deciding. In the end I choose Highland Heather & Blushing Bride as the colours quite simply go so well. You all know I love to fussy cut element out but sometimes it is really helpful to have coordinating Framelits and for this set it’s Frosted Bouquet. I quickly ran the flowers through the Big Shot and at the same time I did the twiggy die in Soft Sea Foam card stock.
The sentiment was stamped in Stazon Ink onto Whisper White and ran through the Big Shot with the octagonal shape. As you can see it’s dramatic higher than on my card, so once I had my initial cut I angled the die rand ran it through another 3 times to get the reduced shape. It’s worth it believe me! Once I had compiled all the elements together you know I have to have some additional Embellishment onto the card. This is why I added the pearls, however I didn’t want to keep them as just basic pearls I coloured them in with my Highland Heather Blend to create this cute addition!
And that’s today’s card done and dusted, I can’t wait to get crafting this weekend. I’ve taken delivery of some goodies and just can’t wait!
See you around!
