Who’s ready for the weekend? Anybody? Just me? Okay.
I’m ready to get into my craft room, get cleaning up the mess and then make some more mess to tidy up the following week. We all do it don’t we! I just wish I had more than two days a week to be in there playing with all my stuff.
Complaining over and done with, shall we move onto today’s card? Now I wanted to use the some more of the goodies from the Autumn/Winter catalogue so you can see how beautiful they are. I’m using the First Frost stamp set and the coordinating Frosted Bouquet Framelits. I love florals on a normal day but when I get to use them for Christmas I’m sold. I can see me using these flowers a lot.
Now the set does come as part of a suite so there is so many items that all match up perfectly, head to page 36 & 37 to have a look. I used Gray Granite for the card base in the standard C6 size and layered with a mat of Gray Granite. You can see the I used the dotty branch just to stamp onto the mat just to give a little detail in the background. I messed around with colours for the trying to me quirky but at the same time still elegant. I stamped the flowers in Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss, I stamped multiples of these flowers in both sizes and went crazy with the Big Shot to cut them all out.
With the sentiment I stamped it in Gray Granite onto Whisper White and then used the long octagonal die to cut it out. You do get this in two sizes which makes it easy to layer up, I used the bigger one and the little one together to get a little outline that was placed behind the sentiment. I did cut this out in Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss, however the Blackberry Bliss isn’t really noticeable in the background.
Before I glued everything down, I was messing around with the composition of everything and I just felt the card was missing something extra. So I used the dotty branch in Shaded Spruce just to sit behind everything to tie everything together. I wanted to use Tranquil Tide but I have ran out So scarifies were made!
I hope you love today’s card, if you wanted a catalogue for yourselves please feel free to contact me and I’ll get one in the post.
See you around!
