It’s that magical time of year again — and what better way to celebrate than with the brand-new Alex Syberia Designs Christmas Release! I’m thrilled to be part of this festive blog hop, sharing a project that’s sure to sparkle and shine using the Holly Jolly Die and Christmas Sentiment Stamp Set.

Why you’ll love the Holly Jolly Die

Card Inspiration – Holly Jolly

I wanted to capture that magical shimmer of fresh snow on a frosty morning — a card that feels both modern and timeless. The soft aqua tones keep it light and airy, while the layered rays and glitter details add that “wow” moment we all love to see when a card catches the light.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Prepare the card base: Start with an A2 card base (14.8 x 10.5cm) in a soft aqua shade. Cut a second panel slightly smaller to serve as your main background.
2. Ink-blend the background: Using a blending brush, softly apply teal or turquoise ink from the centre outward, fading towards the edges. This creates a smooth gradient that adds instant depth.
3. Create the folded rays: Cut several long, narrow strips of matching cardstock. Score and fold each one lengthwise to form a subtle ridge down the middle. Adhere the strips radiating from a central point using liquid glue or double-sided tape, trimming the excess around the edges once dry.
4. Add snow splatter: Lightly flick white paint or diluted white ink across the panel. This small step makes a big difference, adding texture and the illusion of snowfall.
5. Die-cut the sentiment: Cut the Holly Jolly Die twice — once from silver glitter cardstock for sparkle, and once from vellum for a frosted shadow. Adhere the vellum behind the glitter layer slightly offset.
6. Stamp the secondary sentiment: On a strip of white cardstock, stamp “Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas” in teal ink using the Christmas Sentiment Stamp Set. Trim it neatly to sit across your main die-cut.
7. Assemble your card: Attach the background panel to your card base with foam tape for added lift. Position the die-cut sentiment in the centre, then adhere the stamped strip across the middle.
8. Finishing touches: Embellish with sequins, small die-cut stars, or tiny gems. These details catch the light beautifully and tie in with the glittered sentiment for that extra bit of festive sparkle.

The finished result is dimensional yet balanced — clean enough to mass-produce for the holidays, but still luxurious enough to feel special.
