Hello crafty friends!
Today I’m sharing a bright and colourful floral card created with the gorgeous Stencil Art: Amorous Dream & Add-on Die Bundle from Altenew. This is one of those products that does so much of the hard work for you – the layered stencils create all that beautiful detail, while the coordinating dies give you the freedom to cut the flowers apart and completely change up the finished design.
For this card, I went for a really cheerful mix of pink, orange and yellow flowers with fresh green foliage. Rather than keeping the finished stencilled design as one complete panel, I used the add-on dies to create individual elements and arranged them around a soft blue background, leaving plenty of space for that oversized black sentiment to take centre stage.
And if this bundle has made its way onto your Altenew wishlist, you can currently use my code MARTIN5OFF to receive $5 off an order of $55 or more.
Why You’ll Love the Stencil Art: Amorous Dream & Add-on Die Bundle
The thing I love about the Stencil Art: Amorous Dream set is just how much detail you can achieve with ink and a set of stencils. Each layer builds on the last, so you can create flowers with loads of depth and variation without needing to colour every individual petal by hand.
It’s also a brilliant design for experimenting with colour. You could keep everything soft and romantic, work in one monochromatic colour family, or do what I’ve done here and throw pinks, yellows and oranges together for something much brighter.
For me though, the Add-on Die is what really opens up the possibilities. Being able to cut the floral design into individual pieces means you aren’t restricted to using it as a single background. You can tuck the flowers behind sentiments, create borders, build clusters or use just a few elements on a completely different project.
Card Inspiration – Sending Big Hugs Floral Hello Card

I wanted this card to feel bold and full of colour, but I still wanted the flowers to frame the design rather than completely cover it. Cutting the Amorous Dream flowers apart meant I could position them around the outer edges and keep that soft blue section visible through the centre.

The oversized black sentiment adds a really strong contrast against all those lighter colours, while the smaller “Sending Big Hugs” sentiment, a little natural twine and some iridescent sequins add the finishing details.
