Hello crafty friends!
Today I’m sharing a rich and elegant floral card featuring the beautiful Tulips and Daffodils Press + Foil Plate designed by Yana Smakula. This design instantly caught my eye with its flowing spring florals and detailed line art, and I wanted to create something with lots of depth and drama while still keeping a soft seasonal feel.
For this card, I paired warm yellow daffodils with soft pink tulips against a deep olive green background to really make the florals pop. The layered arrangement gives the card so much movement and dimension, while the neutral sentiment helps balance everything beautifully.
If you love detailed florals, layering, and cards packed with dimension, this one is definitely for you.

The Tulips and Daffodils Press + Foil Plate is one of those products that gives you endless creative options. Whether you prefer BetterPress impressions, hot foiling, or simply using the coordinating designs for colouring techniques, it’s incredibly versatile.
Here’s why I’ve been loving it:
- Beautiful hand-drawn floral details
- Perfect for spring and Easter cards
- Works for both elegant and everyday designs
- Great for colouring with markers, pencils, or inks
- Ideal for creating dimensional floral arrangements
The flowing tulips and daffodils work so well together, and I love how easy it is to build a full card design with very little extra needed.
Card Inspiration – Elegant Spring Florals

For this card, I wanted to lean into a moody spring palette rather than the usual bright pastel tones. The deep green background creates a gorgeous contrast against the florals and helps the yellows and pinks stand out even more.
I also focused heavily on layering and dimension by popping sections of the florals up with foam tape and weaving the arrangement around the sentiment. The added twine and embellishments soften the design while keeping everything cohesive.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Create an A2 card base using olive green cardstock.
- Press or foil the floral images from the Tulips and Daffodils Press + Foil Plate onto smooth white cardstock.
- Colour the florals using alcohol markers in soft yellow tones for the daffodils and warm pink shades for the tulips.
- Die cut or fussy cut the floral elements and colour around the edges with coordinating markers to remove any white edges.
- Add subtle ink blending around the edge of the card panel using a darker green ink for added depth.
- Arrange the florals around the card front, allowing some elements to extend off the edges for a fuller design.
- Adhere some florals flat and others with foam tape to create dimension and movement throughout the arrangement.
- Create the sentiment using a coordinating sentiment die and layer it across the centre of the card.
- Wrap a little twine behind the sentiment and tie into a loose bow for added texture.
- Finish the card with splatters and sparkling embellishments for extra detail and shine.
The finished card feels lush, layered, and full of spring elegance.
