Hello crafty friends!
Today I’m sharing a beautifully layered floral card featuring the Clematis Die Set from Alex Syberia Designs — a set that delivers effortless dimension, soft elegance, and truly eye-catching blooms. If you love florals that practically arrange themselves, this one’s going to be right up your street. I paired the delicate flowers with a bold “HELLO” sentiment for a fresh, uplifting card that’s perfect for sending to a bestie, just because.
Why you’ll love the Clematis Die Set
The Clematis Die Set is a floral lover’s dream — the petals, buds, and leaves all have a beautifully sculpted quality that makes the finished flowers feel full, dimensional, and so easy to customise. Whether you prefer soft pastels (like today’s project) or bold, vibrant blooms, this die set adapts to any colour palette effortlessly.
The layering is intuitive, the results are stunning, and it works wonderfully as both the star of the show or an elegant accent on a larger design.
Card Inspiration — Soft Clematis Blooms

For this project, I wanted the Clematis flowers to feel airy and delicate, so I kept to soft pastel tones and let the dimension do the heavy lifting. The layered arrangement creates a lush floral cluster that frames the sentiment beautifully, while the fresh green background keeps everything bright and uplifting.
Follow along with the step-by-step instructions below to recreate this look.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare the card base
- Start with a soft green cardstock panel for your card base.
- Cut a second panel slightly smaller and adhere it with foam tape to create subtle, raised depth.
- Die-cut your florals
- Using the Clematis Die Set, cut multiple flowers, leaves, and buds in white cardstock.
- Lightly ink-blend the petals in soft pink tones, keeping the colour concentrated towards the centre for a soft fade.
- Colour or die-cut the flower centres in a bright yellow for contrast.
- Ink-blend the foliage in muted greens to keep the palette cohesive.
- Assemble the floral elements
- Layer each flower and bud, gently shaping the petals with your fingers for added dimension.
- Arrange the florals across the centre of the card, tucking leaves beneath the blooms to build a natural flow.
- Adhere the pieces using a mix of liquid glue and foam tape for depth.
- Add the sentiment
- Die-cut the word HELLO in kraft and white cardstock, offsetting the layers slightly to create a shadowed look.
- Add the sub-sentiment, “You Are The Best Bestie Ever,” tucked beneath the main greeting.
- Finishing touches
- Add a few sequins, enamel dots, or clear drops for subtle sparkle.
- Flick a few white paint splatters across the background for added texture.
