Hello crafty friends!
The 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge is officially underway, and we’re starting with a prompt that couldn’t be more fitting — Merry & Bright Beginnings. There’s something about this time of year that calls for shimmer, sparkle, and a bit of bold colour, so I decided to dive straight into the rainbow for my first project.

Daily Challenge

Let’s kick off the challenge with a sparkle! Today’s all about capturing that joyful, glimmering feeling that makes Christmas magic. Add shimmer, shine, and a touch of festive flair to start your 30 days on a bright note.
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Create glowing backgrounds using metallic inks, foils, or glitter pastes.
- Layer shiny embellishments like sequins or mirrored card to add sparkle.
- Use light-inspired imagery such as fairy lights, stars, or candles to make your design glow.
Today’s Project

This card is all about joy and playfulness. The clean white lines between those colourful rays help everything pop, while the silver glitter sentiment adds just enough festive magic without overpowering the background. It’s one of those designs that looks more complicated than it is, which makes it perfect for kicking off a month of creativity.
I love that this card captures the spirit of the challenge — creative, light-hearted, and full of energy. It’s a reminder that sometimes all you need to feel festive is a handful of colour and a little bit of shine.
