I couldn’t resist going all out with a deep blue night sky for this birthday card. I love how the bold colours make the stamped elements pop while the simple layout keeps the focus on the playful scene. Here’s how I brought it all together:
Step-by-step instructions:
- Create the background – Ink blend a panel of cardstock with rich shades of navy and deep blue. Add a few splatters of white paint to mimic stars.
- Stamp and colour – Use the Out of This World stamp set to stamp the astronaut, alien, stars, planets, and rocket. Colour using alcohol markers or your medium of choice.
- Die cut and arrange – Die cut each coloured element using the coordinating dies and arrange them on the panel, raising a few on foam pads for dimension.
- Add the sentiment – Heat emboss the sentiment “Hope your birthday is over the moon” in white for a crisp, space-worthy finish.
- Embellish – For a final touch, add clear embellishments for a twinkling star effect.
