Card Inspiration – Soft Daisy Dreams

For this card, I really wanted to showcase the gentle beauty of the daisies. I chose a neutral kraft background to let the soft pencil colouring shine. Here’s how I created it:
- Stamp the Floral Image: Using a light brown ink, I stamped the main Oxeye Daisy image onto kraft cardstock.
- Colour with Pencils: I carefully coloured the daisies with colouring pencils, building up soft layers for a dreamy, muted look. I added light pink tones to the petals for subtle depth and rich greens to the leaves.
- Die-Cut the Image: Using the coordinating die, I cut out the floral arrangement.
- Prepare the Background: I adhered a kraft panel onto a card base, curling one of the corners for added texture and dimension.
- Add the Florals: I popped the coloured florals up with foam tape to create dimension against the background.
- Embellish: I flicked white paint splatters over the card for a whimsical touch.
- Add the Sentiment: I heat embossed the “Miss You My Friend” sentiment onto a strip of dark brown cardstock and attached it with foam adhesive.
- Finish with Twine: I wrapped twine around the card for a rustic finishing detail.
I love how the neutral tones allow the delicate colouring to really steal the show!
