Card Inspiration: A Love-Filled Creation

For this design, I combined a rustic kraft base with elegant florals and a custom portrait to create a heartfelt keepsake. Here’s how I brought this card to life:

1. Created a Stamped Background – Using kraft cardstock, I stamped floral images in a subtle tone-on-tone effect to add texture and interest without overpowering the focal elements.
2. Stamped & Colored the Custom Portrait – I used Custom Portrait #1 from Beyond Stamping to create a simple yet charming illustration. Soft coloring was added to enhance the hand-drawn feel while keeping the look delicate and personal.
3. Die-Cut & Layered the Florals – The floral images were stamped and watercolored in soft pinks and greens, then die-cut to create depth and dimension. These elements frame the portrait beautifully.
4. Added the Sentiment – I die-cut the word “thankful” from This is Big Sentiments: Thankful in a bold script and paired it with a smaller sentiment strip reading “You are in my life” for extra impact.
5. Finishing Touches – A gold oval frame was added to highlight the portrait, while twine, pearls, and distressed edges brought extra texture and sophistication to the design.
