The 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge was designed to get us ready for the festive season, earlier than we might have without it. Each day a challenge is posted with a card that I have created for the challenge. If you are joining the challenge then please share them using the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge or join the Facebook page. Links to both are available below.

A little about today’s challenge…
This challenge is paired with its counterpart yesterday. Today we are going on the opposite end of classic by going contemporary. Similarly to yesterday you should think about the colours and imagery you are using.
TODAY’S PROJECT
I feel like I have taken an interesting take on this challenge by using traditional or classic imagery however incorporating non-traditional colours. Now I understand that the Sweetest Time Stamp Set [153436] is very playful with the imagery however I would still deem it relatively traditional. I focused primarily around Black & Gold to just pop.

The trio of candles from the Sweetest Time Stamp Set [153436] where stamped and embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder [109129]. I didn’t really want the candles to be lost in too much gold so I took a Gold Hoop [152474] and just placed this behind. While this isn’t a detail that screams out its just there to assist in the in getting the theme.

The candles were situated on top of a die cut shape from the Tasteful Labels Dies [152886]. You can’t really see this behind the candles or the holly leaves however it’s a little touch. I also introduced that the holly leaves for that little pop of colour. I’m sure like me you love the Shaded Spruce as a colour and the leaves framing the card really just sets it off.
