The 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge was designed to get us ready for the festive season, earlier than we might have without it. Each day a challenge is posted with a card that I have created for the challenge. If you are joining the challenge then please share them using the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge or join the Facebook page. Links to both are available below.
A little about today’s challenge:
The is the first Technique Challenge ever! This is something new to this challenge. We should all be pushed to try something new and this technique is new to me.
Paper Piecing is where you layer or configure different paper to create a different pattern or image.
This challenge was actually challenging. Surprise I know. I really didn’t know where to start with paper piecing as it isn’t something I’ve before and believe me there was a few trials. In the end I decided to keep it small with the little trees from the Coming Home Stamp Set . This set is just so versatile, you’ve seen me use in in so many different ways. I don’t think you’ve seen the last of it either.
I used the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper for the patterned paper. This paper has a fun mix of traditional colours with some really playful patterns. You might have missed it but it is included withing the Heartwarming Hugs Suite .
What I love most about this card is its simplicity. It really doesn’t need any more than what is on it because we have balance between the three sections. On the bottom half we have some more of the gorgeous Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper . In the middle we have our trees from Coming Home Stamp Set and sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set . Finally, the top half of the card is filled with the Tasteful Textures Embossing Folder .
