Hello everyone. Today I’m bringing you a project that I was asked to create for the team at Stampin’ through the Catalogue. I have stamped along with them before but it was an honor to be asked to be a guest designer over on their Instagram & Facebook page. The team select out their favorites from the catalogues that Stampin’ Up! offers and create some beautiful projects with them. When I was asked I had a selection of stamp set to choose from and my favorite was the So Much Love Stamp Set – It’s it fabulous.
If you had watched my Annual Catalogue walk through video you would know that the So Much Love Stamp Set was on my shopping list. The reason for this is the floral images within the stamp set. Now as you can see from my project I didn’t use the images as they are stamped. Instead, I stamped multiples on the floral images before cutting them up into flower and foliage. This gave me greater control over the styling and positing of the imagery.
The biggest focus point is the sentiment which was created with the Playful Alphabet. I messed around a little bit with this at the time as I just couldn’t decide on whether to have the outer block or just the single letter. The block of Daffodil Delight just seems to give the card some weight and really adds depth to the card. For me I love the way you can see the flowers through the letters of the sentiment. It’s almost like looking through a gate.
I’ve been asked a lot about the gold splatter I’ve placed on the last few projects. It’s really simple to achieve. I stamped my Versamark Ink Pad onto a clear block and then with an Aqua Painter water the ink down slightly. Then you just need to flick the watered down ink over your project and sprinkle over gold embossing powder. It’s so easy.
