The 30 Day Card Making Challenge is still underway with us reaching the day 12 of the challenge. I honestly thought that I wouldn’t be doing the challenge alongside everyone but honestly it’s been a much needed distraction. I just need to try and not run out of things to say before day 30! You can imagine, I’ll just be like Him, here’s the card. Bye’.
Day 12 is the final season in the challenge, winter. I’m sorry to remind you of all the day and wet days that we are finally seeing the end of however it has it perks. Winter to me is blue, blue and more blue – why? It’s a cold colour.
So full disclaimer, I already had this card made and it was sat on the side gathering dust. While I like this card I just don’t love it like I do with some of my other creations. It’s one of them. My biggest issue is probably the sentiment, like what was I thinking. Design wise if the piece of Basic Black should be positioned more to the right side than in the middle.
One thing I love on this card is the winter night scene. I love creating dramatic backdrops with colour. There’s a few ways which I alway go to but this is one of my favourites, water wash background. I normally just stick a larger piece of watercolour paper down onto my grid paper before coating the surface with water. This is when you’ll pick up the ink (ink pads listed in supply list) with an aqua painter and just wash the colour over. To get an ombré effect just work it lightest to darkest.
I don’t know about you but after 12 days of this challenge I need a G&T with a good 12 hour nap. But don’t worry. When I wake up I’ll be checking out #30DayCardMakingChallenge, I hope you will be checking it out too.
