Just the other day I was saying how much I want the Mountain Air Stamp Set. Two days later it came in the post. While I wish Stampin’ Up! delivered that quickly I actually received it as part of my Artisan Design Team box. It’s almost as if they knew it was on my wish list, maybe it’s on yours?
I loved this stamp set for two reasons. The first being the amazing imagery, I think the images are just perfectly drawn. The second being the reverse stamping, if this is new to you then let me explain. All this means is you can ink up both sides of the stamp and get an image. For these stamps you have one detailed shape and the other a solid image. These images are not designed to line up with each other but individual images.
For today’s project I knew I wanted a large area of blended link for a background. I did with using three colours, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. You don’t need any fancy blending tool to create an effective background, I just used a Sponge Dauber. This card actually started as a DL size card (9.9cm x 21cm) but in the end I created a standard C6.
The sentiment is taken from the Genuine Gems stamp set. There is a mixture of fonts in this stamp set that makes it perfect for different circumstances. I really like the super slim style in contrast to the vast space on the card while pulling through the white and black colours.
Video Tutorial
I have created a video demonstrating how I created the background to this project.

This is beautiful, Martin. Can you tell us something about the mountains? I see they are embossed and that in your supplies you also list a Black Blends Marker. Were they stamped on black CS or white and colored with the Blends Marker after embossing? Thanks in advance.

The mountains were stamped onto the Whisper White and Embossed in Black Embossing powder. If you are careful with the Black Stampin’ Blend Maker you can colour this in afterwards. Embossing the image onto Black cardstock would also look great!
