I’m so jealous of anybody who is currently making the most out of the wonderful sum we have been having in the UK. I know some of you from America still have snow, which is equally as nice because snow is fun. Apparently the weather is due to change and it’s due to start raining from today so I hope this is wrong and it’ll stay this way ready for the weekend.
Today’s card is a little disappointing. Not because of the card itself, I think it’s really cute and sophisticated. However it doesn’t photograph well and this photo and video really doesn’t do this card justice. This card uses a technique called tonal stamping. This basically mean that you will use the ink colour as the cardstock; in this case I’m using Night Of Navy. This gives a super subtle effect to the background. Normally this tends to be a lot more visible, especially with lighter colours, this because said you can’t see how effective it really is.
My favourite part about using Stampin’ Up supplies is how EVERYTHING coordinations, you might have notice this is my favourite thing as I mentional it all the time. It’s just before Stampin Up I would get so frustrated that I could find card stock that matches perfectly with my inks or accessories. This takes the hard work out of the game and gives you so much more time to get creative and actually make. Like who else pops out to buy some red card but you get it home and it’s not the right red? With SU you know what you’re getting every time. You also can’t do the this technique without coordinating supplies.
I love using Copper Embossing Powder on dark coloured card, primarily because of how it just shines when the lights hits it. I dare you to tell me that it’s not the first thing you spot on this card. Someone recently commented on my Instagram asking as to why I heat emboss on every card that I make. Now I don’t have the answer because I’m not sure, I use it for sentiments primarily just to make them pop.
