The sun is back and that makes me happy! When I’m happy I seem to be make better cards, or at least that’s my opinion.
As I’m sure you are all aware I love the Long Notelet Cards (no that I have ever purchased the cards pack). They are just the perfect size for smaller stamps and if larger cards scare you, these would be perfect. The card messaures 6.5×11.4 so you can get 3 from a sheet of A4 card stock. Perfect right? Good I’m glad you agree.
Now onto today’s card, I don’t think I’m a less is more person and this card only being a single layer really tested my ability to edit. I’ve been wanting to do some colouring and this card was ideal for that. Stampin’ Up offers so many different colouring methods but I’m ‘old fashioned’ and wanted to stick with what I know; the Stampin Write Markers. Don’t worry I have some blends in order and they are due here on Tuesday. My curtains will be twitching!
Using the hostess stamp set Artfully Folded, I choose the flower burst to be the main focus of the card around the sentiment also from this set. As you can see from the video about this card you will see that I started by masking off a half centimetre with some copier paper where I’m wanting the sentiment to sit. Using Stazon Ink I stamped to the flower so there was a clear line across the card. I then repeated this a long the bottom.
Finally it was time to stamp the sentiment and get colouring. I’m sure you are also Subtles is my favourite so it was a no brained me using them today! I took out Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Blushing Bride & Highland Heather which all complement each other to colour the flower. And that’s it. Once your colouring is done your done, you could always add more but that’s not always best.
Now todays video is jinx’d; one its terrible, nothing went right it was recorded three times before it even decided to record. However I reached a point where the video worked well enough to post and can only apologies for the state of it. I promise it wont happen again.
As always the list of products are listed below with links to my online shop! Yes I know it’s a small list!
