I have a little confession; I haven’t crafted since the weekend whereas I’ve crafted ever night since my starter kit arrived. Having a break is making my head swell with ideas so I’m excited to get back into my room, only need to tidy it up first. Sean’s orders.
Today’s card has actual purpose, it’s being given to someone! Strange I know but so far all the cards I’ve made other than the ‘Thank You’ cards for everyone who’s placed an order are sat in a box. Me & Sean we’re invited to an engagement party so of course I had to make a card. This isn’t an original idea and I’m sure you’ve all see it before but hopefully my little spin will give some inspiration.
I used the Up & Away Framelits to cut out the hearts to create the heart-air balloon. Don’t all laugh at once… Anyway puns over with, I used four hearts per balloon; one as a base and three folded to create the dimension. For the card base I used Balmy Blue 4×4 card, I was in two minds whether to use the Embossing Paste or to do as I did and just cut out some clouds from Whisper White. I feel like I made the right choice, I like it. Why not give it ago yourself and let me know how it goes with the Embossing Paste?
As the main idea was for the hearts to be hot air balloon I used the basket stamp from the coordinating stamp set Lift Me Up and cut it out with the basket die. I’ve recently had an order with some blends included, so this was the perfect opportunity to get the sum of them. It’s safe to say that I’m converted, they are great! Using Crumb Cake; light & dark, I quickly coloured them in and used a journing pen for the strings. I could used the stamp for the strings however I didn’t want to the restricted in how far away the balloons go etc.
The sentiment is from the stamp set Little Elephant and stamped in Stazon onto Whisper White, the original pan was to have this hanging from two balloons but I changed my mind so I created the banner instead. I love this playful nature of this card and I hope that the happy couple likes it too.
That’s all from me today, I’ll see you around!
