Evening all, slight delay in todays post. You can all blame YouTube for taking 9 hours to upload my video…
As I advised on Thursday I was holding my month Coffee & a Card meet up, August was the first month go with a bang but I was grateful for a much smaller group this time, I got to spend more time with everyone and even sat down! They all decided they were wanting to make a box next time that’s exciting especially as I’ve only made cards since my return.
They made two cards that I had designed and as we had a little extra time I let them loose to create some of their own cards. I must say I’ve never seen so much concentration in one room. I’m going to split the cards up before so you’ll see one today and one next Sunday, this meaning you’ll get to see the demonstration as they did!
Anyway, I’ve tease a little about today’s card sharing an image across all social media sites; if you don’t already, why not follow me on them for all my sneak peaks and reviews on products. I’ve made similar cards to this each year in a variety size and shape. It’s a spin on the easel card that I’m sure you all know of. The main card base when folded is 3×4 in Basic Black with the Whisper White measuring the same. This card is super easy, I stamped the medallion stamp in Merry Merlot onto the Whisper White and created the bow with the reversible ribbon in the Cooper & Merry Merlot. I love this Ribbon and couldn’t wait to share it with my attendees.
I wrapped the ribbon around the Whisper White, tying it into a not as per the image as well as a bow which you can see from the ribbon. I prefer the bow! As this was all secure I grab my adhesive put this onto the Basic Black leaving 1/2 an inch either side. The sentiment fits perfect in the centre of the medallion, I grab some scrap Basic Black rubbed it don’t with my Embossing buddy and stamped it in Versamark before heat setting it in white. I popped this up onto dimensionals and that the made card done.
You know what I’m like though never happy unless we have some Rhinestones on there. So I added two little ones onto the sentiment. I felt it was still missing something to finish it off, this is when I remembered that before I used to draw a black line around the white to create a little extra boarder, I used the 01 journaling pen.
The video demonstration is below:
This weekend other than my card class hasn’t been filled with very much crafting however I’m sure I’ll keep you all posted on my mid week crafts.
See you around!
