I’m really excited to share that I’ll be joining Jennifer Johnston and Aditi Mahajan for Altenew Academy’s latest online class, Blended Beauty: Building Color & Dimension!
If you’ve already got the basics of ink blending down and want to start using colour with a little more confidence and intention, this class is designed to help you take that next step.
Across the class, we’ll be exploring how ink blending can completely transform a card design — from creating smooth transitions and beautiful backgrounds to using colour placement, intensity and contrast to add real depth and dimension.
About Blended Beauty
Blended Beauty: Building Color & Dimension is a progressive Altenew Academy class taking you from beginner-friendly techniques through to more detailed and advanced approaches.
Jennifer, Aditi and I will each bring our own style and approach to ink blending, with projects designed to help you build your skills gradually rather than throwing everything at you at once.
You’ll explore how colour can be used to strengthen a design, create focal points and bring stamped, die-cut and dimensional elements to life.
Throughout the class, you’ll learn how to:
- use intentional colour placement to strengthen your card designs
- progress from beginner to intermediate and advanced ink blending techniques
- combine ink blending with stamped and die-cut elements
- use colour to add depth to florals and nature-inspired designs
- build backgrounds and focal points using strategic blending
- explore different approaches and styles from three instructors
The Class Schedule
The pre-recorded classes begin in early November:
4 November 2026 — Jennifer Johnston
5 November 2026 — Aditi Mahajan
And then on 21 November 2026, I’ll be joining everyone for a bonus interactive live session!
My live session will be at 12:00 PM EST, which is 5:00 PM UK time.
I’m especially looking forward to the live element because it gives us the chance to work through techniques together, talk about colour choices and answer questions as we go.

There are two ways to join the class.
