Hello crafty friends!
Today I’m sharing a bright, bold and beautifully cheerful card that is guaranteed to lift someone’s spirits. This design features the Basket of Blooms set from Simon Says Stamp, and although the set is wonderfully versatile, I’ve used the butterfly images to create a playful “Hello Bestie” card bursting with colour.
If you love clean layouts with pops of vibrant ink blending and a little bit of dimension, this one is for you.

- Great for building layered scenes or clean and simple focal designs
- Works beautifully for friendship, birthday and everyday cards
- Coordinates effortlessly with bold sentiments
It’s the kind of set that gives you endless options. You can go soft and subtle, or bold and graphic like I have here.
Card Inspiration – Hello Bestie

For this card, I wanted the sentiment to feel front and centre, with butterflies fluttering all around it. The bright pink card base sets the tone immediately – fun, energetic and full of personality.
The butterflies are coloured in a mix of sunny yellows, warm oranges, soft pinks and cool aqua tones. By keeping the background white and crisp, the colours really pop and allow the dimensional elements to shine.
The scattered stamped butterflies in pink help tie everything together and create movement across the design. A few sequins add just enough sparkle without overwhelming the layout.
Step by Step Instructions
- Create a bright pink square card base.
- Trim a white panel slightly smaller than the card front to create a framed effect.
- Stamp the larger butterfly images from the Basket of Blooms set onto white cardstock using a crisp black ink.
- Colour the butterflies using your preferred medium. I used soft ink blending to create smooth gradients on each wing.
- Fussy cut or die cut the butterflies.
- Stamp smaller butterfly silhouettes randomly across the white panel in a vibrant pink ink.
- Stamp the sentiment “hello bestie” in the centre using a bold pink for “hello” and a coordinating warm tone for “bestie.”
- Adhere the coloured butterflies using foam adhesive for dimension, arranging them so they appear to flutter around the sentiment.
- Finish with a few sequins for subtle sparkle.
- Mount the white panel onto the pink card base.
This layout is easy to recreate and can be adapted for so many different colour combinations. Try pastels for spring, rich jewel tones for autumn, or even a monochrome look for something more dramatic.
