I am so excited to be joining the Alex Syberia Designs BetterPress Release Blog Hop as a guest designer! It’s an absolute honour to work with this incredible brand—especially now that they’ve launched in the UK. This release is full of beautiful, thoughtfully designed products, and I had the absolute pleasure of creating with the Charming Floral Background Press Plate and the Classic Sentiments Press Plate. Card Inspiration: Thank You for Being You

For my project, I really wanted the floral background to shine—literally and figuratively! I used the Charming Floral Background Press Plate to create a pressed panel, then coloured the florals with soft peachy pinks and vibrant greens for contrast.

Here’s the card I created using the Charming Floral Background Press Plate and Classic Sentiments Press Plate:

1. Pressing the Background – I began by pressing the Charming Floral Background Press Plate onto white cardstock using the BetterPress system and dark olive ink. The impression was crisp and full of detail—perfect for colouring!
2. Colouring the Florals – I used a mix of dye inks and water-based markers to add soft peach tones to the petals and fresh green to the leaves. To add depth, I coloured and fussy-cut several of the flowers, layering them with foam adhesive for a 3D look.
3. Creating the Sentiment – For the sentiment, I used the Classic Sentiments Press Plate—another star from this release. I hot foiled it with white foil onto kraft cardstock, which created a beautifully subtle and elegant contrast.
4. Finishing Touches – I tied some natural twine around the panel for texture and adhered everything to a deep olive green card base. A few scattered gold sequins added that perfect finishing sparkle.
