Day one – o cHRISTMAS tREE
’Twas the start of the challenge, and all through the house,
The crafters were stirring (even the mouse!).
With glue sticks and glitter, and ideas to share,
It’s time to get crafting with love and flair!
Today’s Prompt: “O Christmas Tree” 🌲✨
Get inspired to create a festive tree card that captures the spirit of the season! Here are some ideas to spark your creativity:
- Classic Silhouette: A simple tree with ornaments or snow accents.
- Whimsical Patterned Tree: Fill with festive patterns like candy canes or holly.
- Tree of Words: Form a tree shape with holiday words or phrases in calligraphy.
- Animal Adorned: Woodland animals decorating a tree in a snowy forest.
- Modern Geometric: A minimalist tree using shapes and bold colors.
Today’s Project
I wanted to create a playful and festive forest scene. I started with a deep purple background to give the design a rich, wintery feel, allowing the trees to really pop. I had fun mixing different shapes, patterns, and shades of pink, green, and plaid for the trees, adding variety and interest to the card. The “Merry & Bright” sentiment in soft pink became the focal point, tying everything together with a cheerful vibe. To finish, I added sequins and tiny embellishments for a bit of sparkle, capturing the magic of Christmas in a simple yet festive way.
