Fancy Friday – Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set

Happy Sunday! I’m really excited to share today project with you. It has been a while since I have created this style of project. The card with created primarily with the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set [155092]. I created this card for the Fancy Friday Sketch Challenge.

Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set

The Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set is perfect for every butterfly occasion. Not only is the art style realistically detailed, which allows for a wide range of versatility, but also, these butterflies are modelled after butterfly species from around the world! The butterflies on this single stamp are arranged for an easy background stamp, or alternatively, use a masking technique to stamp individual butterflies!

Todays Project

Today’s card focuses on the butterfly and the watercolour background. Below I have created a video tutorial so you can see exactly how is done. I love how the colours work together on this one. I chose Tahitian Tide & Gorgeous Grape. Now is it me of does Gorgeous Grape not get used enough? I know I should really use it more.

These card features some ‘hand drawn’ elements. I say it like that because with a few tools you can easily trace the shape. Between the Layering Circle Dies [151770] and the punches I managed to achieve the circle shapes. The lines were created with a ruler (as you’d expect}. I wanted the lines not to be perfectly straight so I draw the shapes out first before going over them with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker [100082].
