Happy Wednesday! I hope you are all feeling fabulous and festive. I’m in a mad rush to share the last few projects that I had created before the big day. Today’s card was created way back in October for the Fancy Friday Design Team. This is an Instagram only challenge team, this card was for a colour challenge we held. Candy Canes Stamp Set
Christmas and candy canes go hand in hand, and we have candy canes galore for your Christmas crafting! One stamp, so many candy canes. This stamp is large enough to cover an entire card front to create a fun background. Just ink once, stamp once, and your card background is done!
Todays Card
The colours in the challenge were to use, Real Red, Old Olive & Coastal Cabana. This is such a mix of traditional colours mixed with contemporary with the Coastal Cabana. Who remembers then the Artisans of 2021 did the love your colour challenge? And I said Coastal Cabana was my least favourite colour? Nevertheless, I took on the challenge.
I used the Coastal Cabana Ink [147097] to create a fun watercolour effect background. By smudging the ink pad onto a Clear Block F [118483] and spritzing with water. I used normal Basic White Card [159228] which I wouldn’t recommend using with water. If you use a minimal amount and quickly dry with a Heat Tool [129054] you will be fine. Once the background is complete you can stamp your Candy Canes Stamp Set [156373]. It’s such an effective and fun way to create a background.
The sentiment is from the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set [156330] which was stamped in Memento Ink [132708]. I incorporated the Old Olive element with the Forever Flourishing Dies [152714] and decorated these with the Red Rhinestone [146924].
