And so we begin the 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge.
The 30 Day Christmas Card Making Challenge was designed to get us ready for the festive season, earlier than we might have without it. Each day a challenge is posted with a card that I have created for the challenge. If you are joining the challenge then please share them using the #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallenge or join the Facebook page. Links to both are available below.
A little about today’s challenge:
It was inspired by stereotypical imagery for the festive season. That’s right – Snowflakes. While I didn’t want to limit the theme to only snowflakes it was still what I focused on for my project. You could use just blue tones to represent the coldness or so many other things.
Okay, so you know already that my project is created using snowflakes as the main focal point. The Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set is just perfect for this theme. I wanted to do something a little textual and different to normal with the set. To start with a created a watercolour background with Balmy Blue & Night of Navy Classic Ink. It’s so simple to create and so effective.
I created a foreground and middle ground for this card using the stamps from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set . I did this by stamping the image first in Frost White Shimmer Paint and once dry stamped the image in Versamark . This was then embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder . Of course, this wasn’t enough, so I flicked over some of the Frost White Shimmer Paint & Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Ink .
With everything happening in the background I didn’t want too much else happening on the card. I know, there’s ways room for something else but this background is pretty busy. A simple sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set along with a few Blue Gems and we are done.
