I’m sure you are wanting to know how my getting on with the little challenge I set myself on Tuesdays post. Well I have made two cards which I absolutely love, just need to try and do another 4, how hard can it be. Other than this I know that I’m desperately needing to clean my craft room. I tend to find that one I’m on a mass Male or video recording the mess just piles up. I actually really enjoy cleaning on, please tell me I’m not alone?
Today’s card is actually super simple, it’s a little 3×3 card with one stamp in Memento Ink. Done and dusted. Post over. Bye. I’m only joking or at least a little anyway. I’ve been wanted to create a vellum card for a while now but something has just been niggling at me prevent me from just going for it. This obviously isn’t a vellum card but it’s a step in the right direction. Vellum is a medium that I love but is a little tricky, it’s very delicate and can rip. When you heat it it could burn and bubble and it’s not porous so inks take a very long time to dry. By using it you are asking for problems, but when you get used to it is fabulous.
Anyways I waffled a little bit there but it’s good to know if you haven’t used it before. I faced two issues with the project. The first being in creating the vellum envelope this was the second attempt because I wasn’t delicate enough and when I scored the vellum I went straight through. I should really point out that I used the Envelope Punch Board, this is amazing and a must have! You can create so many envelopes for all your funky size cards. No more feeling restricted and take power back in your card making. It’s super easy to use as demonstrated in today’s video.
The stamp set used today is the Forever Lovely Stamp Set that’s available in the Spring/Summer Catalogue. It’s such a wonderful set that have these such pretty flowers which is actually available as to step stamping. When stamping on vellum I suggest quick and firm motion and then to wait until the ink is no longer shiny. I broke this rule for the sake of recording, don’t rush.
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about the up coming Stampin’ Up Demonstrator only event in April and the swaps that I need to design and make. The last one was in November and I loved my swap but I’m struggling to think of something simple and effective that screams me. I’ll get there eventually I’m sure.
