Hello crafty friends!
Today I’m joining the Alex Syberia Designs August Release Blog Hop, celebrating the brand-new Happy Cuties and Peony Corners Release.
For my project, I created this soft, vintage-inspired friendship card using the beautiful Peony Corners Stamp, Die & Stencil Bundle. The combination of warm kraft cardstock, selectively coloured florals and loose twine gives the card a wonderfully relaxed, almost botanical-journal feel.
You can explore the release in the Alex Syberia Designs UK shop or visit the international Alex Syberia Designs shop.
Why You’ll Love the Peony Corners Stamp, Die & Stencil Bundle
I love a floral stamp that does much of the composition work for me, and the Peony Corners Stamp Set certainly delivers on that front.
The detailed corner arrangements can be used to frame a card panel, decorate opposite corners or build a larger floral background. You can colour every tiny detail for a bold finished design or, as I have done here, selectively colour the main peonies and leaves while leaving some of the surrounding line art untouched.
That contrast gives the card a slightly rustic, hand-drawn appearance without losing the impact of those beautiful pink blooms. It is also a lovely way to enjoy colouring without feeling as though every single image needs to be completed.
Card Inspiration: A Vintage Peony Friendship Card

I wanted the peonies to feel as though they had been illustrated directly onto an old botanical page. Kraft cardstock immediately gave me the warm, vintage base I was looking for, while the soft pink, green and golden-yellow colouring brought the main elements forward.

By stamping the floral corners at both the top and bottom of the panel, I created a natural frame while preserving plenty of open space through the centre. The twine and raised sentiment then added texture and movement without covering too much of the stamped design.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Cut a panel of kraft cardstock slightly smaller than your card base.
- Stamp the Peony Corners images across the top and bottom of the panel using a dark ink suitable for your chosen colouring medium.
- Colour the main peonies using a selection of soft pink and deeper rose shades. Leave small areas of the kraft cardstock showing to create natural highlights.
- Add green shading to selected leaves and use warm yellow tones for the smaller berries and flower centres.
- Leave some of the surrounding flowers and foliage uncoloured. This creates contrast and helps the coloured peonies remain the focus of the design.
- Add a few small black ink splatters across the open areas of the panel for a slightly distressed, artistic finish.
- Wrap natural twine around the top of the card panel several times and secure it with a loose bow.
- Attach the completed panel to a coordinating card base, using foam tape if you would like a little extra dimension.
- Stamp the “For a Dear Friend” sentiment onto kraft cardstock and cut it out using the coordinating die or by carefully trimming around the design.
- Add additional die-cut layers behind the sentiment or use foam tape to raise it above the floral arrangement.
- Position the sentiment toward the lower-right area of the card to complete the design.
